The tracks
Were outlined
Clear in form,
Guardrails designed
To keep motion forward-
Weaving in and out
Of center point-
Where messages gathered
And traversed this way
Then that,
A way of communicating
Born eons ago
And altered until perfect,
A wondrous notion
Of intuition and evolution
To become a working,
Highly functioning being.
But then what happened
When man took hammer
And others took ax,
Knocking upon bridge
Creating blips
Spotty points
In carried message-
A haze formed
A once legible word
Now a row of squiggles
Indecipherable from last.
The damage hard to see
Unknown to the naked eye
A system of cracks
Fragments and dust
Where structure once stood-
A bridge weaving in and out
Awaiting the next strong wind
A gust just needed
To tear it all down
And end the line
Of communicated thought
And leave mind’s dwellers
In the dark
Awaiting the next call
To make a leap.

Your mind does certainly stagger across the earth - above - around - below - and sometimes beyond! Such a delight to share your thoughts as you pen them. It is exciting, almost as though I am communicating with a young Ralph Waldo or a rousing e e cummings. What a blessing.
