Insulation
She couldn’t cope with herself
but her cats didn't mind the stench
and the papers
piled since 1973
Her cats and other’s cats
didn’t mind the bodies
of their friends used to stuff the walls
under her adept fresh plastering.
Now she lives in a place
where she has walled pictures
and blankets that define
kittens with toy mice wedged
Here she will never feel warm.
