A lifeless caterpillar
Sits on her couch
letting her deeply rooted pain
Sink in
She's too sad to cry
So she sits there
Numb
Unable to laugh
Unable to cry
Unable to love
Her heart thrums
Slow and strong
She doesn't know why she's so sad
She just knows
She has a deep hatred for herself
and she wishes her heart
Would stop
She walks out of her home
and looks down
to see a flower bloom
dark red
Soft red petals
Expanding
Young caterpillar
felt a spark of inspiration
a spark of happiness
young caterpillar
went back to her room
and wrote a poem
her first poem
about a flower
Soft, red petals
Expanding
Now, hopeful caterpillar
felt happy and hopeful
Happy with her work
made made a new home
a cocoon
Now content
She sits in it
growing
developing
writing poetry...

This is beautiful! My favorite part about writing (and reading) is the opportunity to share how you feel, almost anonymously! In a way, I guess it becomes my therapy... I really appreciate seeing stories and poems that seem to share in that feeling. As much as it may seem weird to hear from a stranger, I am proud of you! I'm proud of you for making it as far as you have and for finding the strength to keep going. 💜
