Insomnia take 2 My true Story
Together with arthritis and insomnia there is no way out

In the stillness of night, where silence prevails,
Insomnia’s grip wraps round me like chains,
A relentless companion, its whispers so cold,
In the shadows I linger, my heart growing old.
Doctors don’t understand, their eyes turn away,
As I battle the echoes of dreams gone astray,
Each tick of the clock is a dagger of pain,
Thoughts dance like shadows, like storms in the rain.
Hope feels like a phantom, elusive and frail,
As hours stretch endlessly, my spirit grows pale,
A cross that I shoulder, this burden I bear,
While silent tears trickle, dissolving in air.
I cry out to God, a soft, desperate plea,
Yearning for solace, for sweet liberty,
Yet in the dark solace, I find only dread,
This struggle within me, a tempestous thread.
When lights dim to darkness, I wither, I ache,
Each moment a battle, a choice I must make,
Till dawn breaks the silence, its light harsh and stark,
I wander through nightmares, lost deep in the dark.
The hours stretch endlessly, rest stays far from sight,
In this suffocating fog, I grapple with fright,
As dawn gently rises, it calls forth my pain,
The cycle begins anew, like a merciless chain.
Each ray that breaks forth feels heavy and raw,
A reminder of struggles that leave me in awe,
So while the sun lifts, it stirs up the dread,
And shadows of night linger, clinging to my head.
Though daylight unfolds, bringing light to my fears,
I clutch at the darkness while drowning in tears,
For as day starts anew, the battle’s not done,
In the grip of insomnia, there’s no place to run.
Yet still, in this turmoil, I muster my will,
Tired and weary, I know I can’t still,
For if I should slumber in the warmth of the day,
Another night’s rest slips further away.
