Trapped in Yourself

mirrors surround her. taunting. laughing.

the love in her heart withers away.

like a flower wilting on a red summer day.

another day goes by. she is not home anymore.

a name lost to the winds. amnesia.

the pain she felt since she was young takes ahold.

a new day. she breaks the walls of atrophy.

no longer a slave to herself. a name swirling through the winds.

waiting. she remembers.

the mirrors crack.

a heartbeat. a sign. authentic smiles. she feels alive.
