A three year-old

Seeing a cat

Now, excited, rushes

To pick it up

·

He learns

Quickly, though not fully

The meaning of the word

Retaliation

·

Though the warmth that pours from his eyes

And runs down his arms

Are different

He can't yet tell them apart

About the Creator

Ryan Giese

I'm not formally educated in creative writing, or anything really, so don't expect much from me. I have, however, read bits and pieces of a poetry textbook I found at a thrift store.
