Inner Silence Broken By Depression

No one knows how this feels

Inner Silence Broken By Depression

A hollow ache that fills the day,

A weight that never leaves,

Where light once danced,

now shadows stay,

And silence pulls and grieves.

The mirror shows a tired face,

A soul worn thin and grey,

Each smile a fragile,

fleeting trace,

Of strength that fades away.

In the quiet,

whispers grow,

Dark thoughts that cloud the mind,

Where hope was once a steady glow,

Now emptiness you find.

The heart beats slow,

a heavy sound,

As if it’s lost its way,

In this quiet, broken ground,

The light seems far away.

Tears fall, though none are seen,

A river running dry,

Behind the mask,

the space between

The quiet and the cry.

In the stillness,

you’re alone,

A fight you cannot win,

Yet in the depths, a seed is sown,

A spark that hides within.

So pick up slowly,

fight this fight,

Give it all you’ve got,

In your heart, there’s endless light.

You’ll find the strength you’ve forgot.
