Individual

who are we

The bad part about being individual

Is no one feels exactly how you feel

In the same exact moment you feel it

No one is in the same spot

Exactly when you're standing there

Everyone has a different past

And a different view of the present

As I watch the cars pass on the interstate

I realize everyone is different

Each person has a different journey

A different destination

A different fate

Sometimes two fates will come together

And create one

Of course that will never be me

No one will ever understand me

Not exactly

And then again

You never understand someone completely

There's no one following you into the corners of your room

Knowing your every thought

Like what you're thinking right when you wake up

When you're brushing your teeth

In the shower with the warm water wetting every dry spot of you

Or eating your favorite food

Course we are all happy when we eat food

Yet it's all different

When the car wheels are spinning

So is your head

But no one will know what you'e thinking

Yet when I look into anyone's eyes

No matter how pretty

It's like a void

And I wonder if it's all real

It's all different

The sunrises and sunsets every day

Every ray of the sky will always be a different color

The flowers will bloom and live

Soaking in the warm sun

The mountains will look just as grey

Snow powdering over the top

And that...

That's the only difference I find comfort in
