Incredulous, All Are Left - By This Smile

A Slave to a Slaver, An Obscured Entity

By Francesca PisciottaPublished 8 years ago 1 min read

I’m used to looking through other people and not my own mind

A mind I do not own and in them is where my reason lies

He took it

He destroyed it

What was me,

Or left of me.

A slave to a slaver-

Or victim of a victim-

Is it worse, a victim to harbor,

Or worse to gaze on through the slaughter?

They really don’t know

As you tell them all you have known

They know the you that they see

And the you they see is an obscured entity

Painted in a smiling face

Speaking nonsense, stuttering out of pace

Smile on,

Who is the one smiling?

It used to be the slavers as you knelt down crying

But for this while, here you have been smiling, truly smiling
