In the Presence of the Divine

**If I Had Just One Question for God**

By JonesPublished 2 years ago • 1 min read

If I had just one question for God,

Would He pause in the silence of the stars,

To answer the echoes of my wandering heart

That drifts through the vast unknown?

Would I ask Him of the purpose,

The threads that weave our days,

Or of the pain that lingers,

In the corners of our soul’s maze?

Would He speak of love unending,

Of reasons behind the tears?

Or would He reveal the quiet truth

That’s been buried beneath my fears?

If I had just one moment with God,

Would I seek the why of suffering's hand,

Or would I whisper a plea for peace,

To understand, to finally understand?

But perhaps the question is not mine to hold,

For in His silence, there’s a grace,

A knowing that some things aren’t meant to be told,

And in the unasked, we find our place.

If I had just one question for God,

Would I need to ask it at all?

Or in the quiet of the moment,

Would I simply let my questions fall?
