IN THE MODERN CHURCH

In the modern church

By Arthur MekePublished 5 months ago • 1 min read

In the modern Church

Prayer is no longer the goal

We no longer give God our soul

The poor we no longer love but we toll

In the modern church

Love is but a myth

Hate is but the priest

And the poor is always the wrongdoer

In the modern church

Like eggs our rage we hatch

And instead of God, revenge we search

And adulterers we appreciate without repentance

In the modern church

Loss is feared more than God

Adultery is respected more than prayer

And fornication more than faith
