In The Light, In the Night
Alive is a Gargoyle
The sun is rising
We go back to spying
We're whom they think in the light
But not in the night
When it's day
All they do is pray
While we sit for hundreds of hours
Along all of their tall towers
We're hard on the inside
Even harder on the outside
But that's what they expect us to be
We're never to go free
Even if we could
What would we do?
We're trained for one thing
So we just do what we should
All day long in the sun
Our work is never done
We're frozen in the light
But by night we fight
In the night the demons come
Come to take them all
Said to be sent by the Devil himself
Sighting us, fighting us, deep into the dark, dark night
We may look like stone
But we fight the fight and do what is right
This fight is never ending
Because he sends them to get them all
Just as us, they work at night
Fighting their own fight
Not doing what is right
But doing as was told
I believe these demons were once like them
These people we watch
These people we guard like guardian angels
They are deceived by demons of their own
This fight is useless but even still
We do it every night
These people think we do nothing at all
Because in the light we sit but in the night we fight for them
