In the Land of Milk and Honey
where life is sweet

Cold toes hold hands beneath the covers
as smoke furls in the furnace.
Cavernous woes crevassed with caress, Redress wrongs done in the mind’s fiction.
I know you’re here when the door speaks,
And floorboards creak a familiar pattern
And heart beats in rhythm.
Cappuccino mustaches and bed head in the morning,
Sipping smooth sunbeams as we swirl through the galaxy
Sat on the couch on our big blue marble.
Pondering the ups and downs of life
And changing the world before breakfast.
Heart warmed and mind quelled.
Questions supped and answers drunk
like in the land of milk and honey.
