In the Future

The past can be haunting,

And looking ahead is often daunting.

But I am stronger than every challenge I have been handed.

I am wiser than ever before.

There may be some scars on my pale skin.

But I will wear them with pride,

I will show them to my kin.

They will be proof of every battle I have been in.

I will find the light even in the dark.

When I don't see it ahead I will look to the stars.

In the future, today's troubles will seem petty and small.

In the future I will continue to stand tall.
