In The Deep Of The Night
My Nightmares Are Real
I lay my head down to rest,
I say a pray to sleep safe,
But shadows climb on my wall,
A silhoutte in fog follows me down the hall,
I lay on my pillow, looking at the ceiling;
An axe-man crouchs over me,
With axe in hand, swinging,
A thousand hands creeping,
Out of the walls, they claw my skin,
Red blood now dripping down my face,
My hands tearing the sheets in distress,
I awake with red wine trickling from my eyes,
Paralyzed in fear; My skin as cold as ice,
Make no mistake;
I am still sleeping,
In the deep of the night,
My nightmares are creeping,
In the deep of the night,
I'm in another realm;
In the deep of the night,
My nightmares are real.

Oh my, this was so unsettling and creepy! Well done!
Your vivid depiction of nightmares and the feeling of entrapment was both chilling and evocative. It left a profound impact on me, highlighting the raw and unsettling nature of fear. Thank you for sharing such a powerful piece. Best regards, Dr. Jay
