In the Blink of an Eye There Shall Be Those Who Seek Guidance

A Poem

In the Blink of an Eye There Shall Be Those Who Seek Guidance

Clay feet gain no ground

The untrained eye desecrates the deific

Consciousness poured into the cistern

Sifted and shaken and rolled together

An indifferent affront

What does this mean, you say?

Look beyond the veil and you shall see

Were we to say pressed down and shaken together

Then would the conclusion be apparent

A convulsive humanism led to slaughter

Reviled among the cosmic yet adored against the divine

There is no reason here, dear child

Look not to my face for consensus

Nor seek my voice for confirmation

Yet there be glimmer of glimmer, and sheen of sheen

The rest of rest and the solace of solace

Do you call this hope? Poor deluded child

May it be ever so in the bosom of imagining

Or even the counsel of the ages

You shall seek and find, knock and enter

For the view is broad, and the door is hollow

Author and artist, I'm finding my spirit again late in life. Old passions for poetry borne of love, loss, hope and pain, things with which everyone is familiar.
