In-Sight

Searching within the depths of soul,

For the artist's greatest goal;

Within the depths of every mind

Lies that which I seek to find.

There is a core of the immortal,

It is creation's hidden portal.

For millenia men have sought

To grasp this thing, all for nought.

For it stays hidden in the dark,

Fueling our creative spark.

The painter paints a piece of it,

It manifests within the poet,

Composers capture it with motions,

It helps the actor fake emotion.

Some have only glimpsed the boundary

Burning within, like a foundry.

All the one's who've truly seen it

Are remember for their genius:

Einstein with his great insight

Hawking and his cosmic plight,

Unite the theories into one;

Copernicus who watched the sun.

The percussion caps of Forsyth

When combined with Newton's forsight

Propelled projectiles through the ages

Waging wars on histories pages.

Can pascals machine count the dead?

Who fell to chao progress bred?

What of those who're saved by this;

Who knew a life of only bliss?

We search the mind and hope to find

A tool to free us from a bind,

To cure the ills the common feels;

But innovation leads to deals,

And no one turns the hand away

Which offers both pleasure and pain.

So the common suffer still

While all the wealthy get their fill.

So this new bind bred from progress

In our futile infinite regress

Keeps the cycle ever going

With generations never knowing.

This mental journey never ends

In every mind begins again.

The future's built with every glimpse.

My life has been changed ever since

I saw the boarder of the veil

And far beyond, into the pale.

So onward this etenal quest.

Until mankind is laid to rest.
