In Memory

A Poem

Sitting on the brink,

Who would have known?

Or thought to think?

Nobody sees the side

That hides behind the mask,

Smiling and proud

But sad beyond belief

A ying and a yang

One pulling more than the other

Do you truly know the madness,

That lingers behind big blue eyes?

Or just the façade of whom we play

Day by day

Rest now and breathe a sigh of relief

The chaos has stopped

But the ripple remains

Rhythmic thrumming of a drum

Now carried by the wind

Viewing through a looking glass

That time has come but now has passed

Who you were will resonate with us

One day perhaps you will return on butterfly wings

Same eyes, same smile in a different form

Though that may not be the norm,

Neither were you-
