In Hope, I Can

Wand in a puddle

Trying to turn a whisper

into loud song,

take flight

friends with birds soaring

above windows,

watching the scarves

taken by wind.

***

Where have my smiles run

and where goes

the heart that was so light

and glowed

with purple candor

and the will

to keep on saving souls

each step, each breath,

each crossroad

at twilight?

***

I go on floating in an ocean,

I save dreams

when they drown,

I know not all desires

will come true

some stay with mermaids

and turn into lace,

a net to hold and spare

the love

that dwindles in the corners,

when happiness waits too long

to come out

of shadows and the forest

of lost steps, stories

that wanted to be

but never glimpsed day

when laughter entered lives

and wings

turned into claws tearing apart

the silver bell

that rang fate

of a morning.
