(In)Ability To See

I do not, want to see what I want.

Certainly, it is not only I...

who wrestles with, Desire–

my natural inclination to sin,

my very own "human" nature,

these eyes I continue to curse,

this heart that's in control,

this mind I cannot subdue–

What I see in front me

cultivates what hideous lusts exist in this gallery...

at no fault of the faces in front me-

What I see in this space behind my eyes

is reflected by what I...

don't want to want to see in front of me‐

These eyes I cannot follow,

while they go on looking for something to match the filth that exist in my heart‐

These eyes I cannot look through,

the source of many, of my many Dangerous Wishes...

in this heart that's in control,

damaged roots produce forbidden fruit‐

But...

If my sight were to be something to take...

Would I not still be left with this sin I hate?

Would I not be left to sit with what lust remains in my memory?

I see what I want to see, but...

I don't want, to want what I see‐

What this space behind my eyes paints

isn't just ugly...

but tainted, disgusting, and plagued with Poison–

It isn't real

It isn't true

Perhaps, this is just my own,

Inability to see‐

About the Creator

JM

Personally, writing began as a creative outlet, to be a means of processing and venting emotion, but it has become so much more. Something I want not to be just relatable, enjoyable and a good read, but to reach someone who is in need.
