In a Forrest

I awoke surrounded by a forest
Around me trees, where once were only walls
I’m filled with dread and exhilaration
And in the distance sounds of waterfalls
-
What devious purpose has brought me here
A monster or a villain cold and vile,
A demon or a creature with a spear
And at the thought of this, I crack a smile
-
For I’ve a sword stored beneath my pillow
The foolish bastards moved my whole damn bed
If I’m quick and make my next move sharply,
I’ll draw my blade and take my captor's head
