In a Colour

The Emotions of Middle School

By J EvansPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

Middle school is

Full of burning feelings

Describable as one colour

One beautiful colour

One colour all the same

Full of not knowing what to do with them

Full of the end of an era

The end of being careless

The sun sets into a dark abyss of responsibility

For me it is a rainbow

Some days red

Passion and anger

Some days orange

The contemplation of a leaf

Before it falls to winter

It can be yellow

Smiling sun full of hope

Full of joy

Green days are the world screaming my name

Telling me to run

“You’ve got this,” it says

Blue days are hard

Tears and disappointment

But those days end

Dawn breaks with a new colour to come

Purple is for alone

It hurts but never stays

Never have I been

A mere silhouette

White like a canvas

Others paint you the colour they want

The colour is important

Don't let others dictate it

The emotions are your’s

So are the colours

Not just one but all of them

surreal poetry
