Imprison My Body, Not My Mind

For Those Who Love to Love

By Jane InsanePublished 9 years ago • 1 min read

He says the words

"I promise, I promise"

I'm risking it all

Hoping he's being honest

And light as a feather

I'm falling, I'm falling

But as I fall deeper

I hear the truth calling

And now it's too late

I'm sinking, I'm sinking

What have I done?

What the hell was I thinking?

No sign of light yet

It's getting darker and darker

Is this how it ends?

Counting days with a marker?

My body is weak

I'm rusting, I'm rusting

He has yet to come save me

I need some adjusting

He must've moved on

Without me, without me

He promised he wouldn't

Have forgotten about me

I believe his words now

"Forever, forever"

But it meant something else

Now I'm trapped here forever
