If the World Forgot to Turn

I write this letter, darling, to you,

In hope it cheers you when you’re blue.

I miss you like a treasured painting, a work of art.

Something my heart’s loved about you from the start.

Your smile, a beacon in my darkest night,

Guides me through shadows, it brings me light.

Each memory of you, a cherished song,

In my heart, where you belong.

Oh honey, you are to me

My lover and my destiny.

Oh so wise, a heart of gold,

Someone to cuddle when I am old.

Through every season, side by side,

In you, my joy and solace reside.

With every laugh and every tear,

Our love grows deeper year by year.

No whispered prayer, no bleeding skies,

No triumph carved in hollow lies,

Only the ash of what we knew,

Should this earth stand still and die.

If ever you walked away from me,

My world would drown like poisoned sea.

No more laughter, no more joy,

You bring me so much my darling boy.

Your presence, a balm to my weary soul,

Filling the void, making me whole.

In your arms, I find my peace,

A love so deep, it will never cease.
