If I were a season,

I'd be Autumn

We don't call it Fall here

Our trees are evergreen.

I am warm

to touch on the cold mornings,

And nights,

calm as the silver ocean.

The fresh air filling my body,

heals.

I am a low light that spreads across the land,

rather than beats down on it.

A long exposure for colour,

gives detail.

Shadow and light,

shaping the hills and valleys.

The frost awakens,

like a wave splashing my face

opening me to the adventure

and potential,

a new day.

If I were a season

I'd be Autumn,

who comes prepared for the cold
