Who the hell am I?

I don’t know who I am, it’s no lie

I spent my whole life masking

So when I stopped basking

In the glory of others on a pedestal

Some people weren’t so flexible

Some people have said “well the trash takes itself out”

But what if, I am the trash?

And I have smashed

All that is good

Because who would

Ever slay a dragon for me

Rescue me from a monster of the sea

Fight for my heart

Take a grenade for their part?

I think it’s probably best if I keep my circle tight

And not let anyone else into my exclusive club, right?

About the Creator

Susannah Peareth-Kinston

I am a mother of two boys, a librarian and a poet.

I hope to make some poetry connections here and maybe even have it as a side hustle. I do it for the cathartic release I get from writing it.

I write about love, friendship and ADHD.
