You don't know who I am.

You don't know who I am,

the oceans I've traveled

and the battles I've waged.

You don't know what I've been through.

You don't know what I've been through,

The tears I almost drowned in

from too many losses,

the scars lining my throat

from the screams echoing through the night.

You don't know where my mind is.

You don't know where my mind is,

the overlapping voices I lose myself in,

the suffocating panic,

the temptation of the noose,

You don't know what my identity is.

You don't know what my identity is,

the love and hate that toils inside,

the belief and doubts writhing,

he, she, they, heathen, angel, person,

You don't know what I am.

You don't know what I am,

the passion leaving a smoky trail,

the hatred driving the wheel,

the snapping of bones the chorus of day

the embrace of darkness so gentle at night.

You don't know who I am.

You don't know who I am.
