She was a princess once
In some other place
In another time
She dripped jewels
Wore crystal tiaras
She was graceful
But only because
She had to be
She moved carefully
In rickety corsets
She sank curtsies
Amidst a sea of skirts
Everything around her
A cage
To contain
Who she really was
But now that's as distant
As the stars
That fateful night
Tempered by a storm
A howling wind
Swept down
From mountains
The blood of a rose
Pressed a kiss
To her lips
Staining them
Forever crimson
And her skin
Became pristine diamonds
No jewel could ever compare
Pale eyes, protuberant
Hair in coiled waves
Her grace was now surreal
Unnatural
Like the silent rush
Of angels' wings
Too perfect
Too beautiful
But alabaster skin
And blood red lips
And eyes like crystal shards
Of winter ice
Did not contain
Like the cage of a corset
She was wild
As fierce as unnamed creatures
That prowl the night
There was a hunger in her eyes
Distinctly feline
Cunning and calculating
Waiting and watching
Persuading
Beckoning on
Hypnotising
With beauty and grace
A smile of suggestion
Eyes full of lust
All only to
Sweeten the blood in your veins
