Cascading mounds of fresh fallen snow

A magical delight

Arrived outside my door today

Delivered late last night

With a hint of pine and crisp winter air

Drawing me into memories of yesteryears - somewhere

When I forgot about my worry, my work and steep demands

Bent low enough to touch the snow and cup some in my hands

The cold chilly - frosty nip took me by surprise

But the thrill of it was obvious, shining brightly through my eyes

Filling my heart with warm tender snapshots, of a time long left behind

Resurrected quickly from some album in my mind

Reminding me of a child - who once walked inside my shoes

With hope and dreams and innocence

From every pore it did exude

Sincere love and thankfulness filled a spot that I forgot, was still as vibrant as as it was, nearly 50 years ago

So before I curse this wretched cold and all the grey closes my mind

I want to hug and keep a little bit of her here with me, all the time
