I WOKE UP THIS MORNING

Being on the right side of the grass

  ^&^^^&&^&^&^&&

I woke up this morning.

I know that’s not odd;

And it sure is better than

Being under the sod.

 ^^

That might sound a bit crazy,

Might make me an ass;

But at least I’m on

The right side of the grass.

 ^^

 I woke up this morning,

With no alternate breather.

My lungs are still working.

Can’t snicker at that, either.

 ^^

 My eyes scanned the room

And there on the table,

Was the coffee pot whose

Timer I forgot to enable.

 ^^

 I stood near the bed

And almost felt like jerk

As I twitched my feet

Making sure they still worked.

 ^^

 I walked to the mirror

And gave my image a high five ….

Smiled happily and thanking God

That I am still alive!

Gratitude
