oh, to travel the paths that you’ve blazed

setting the scene for the love songs we’ve made

even holding the constellations in your gaze

and all of the dreams and promises proclaimed

I wish that I could be more like you

cause everybody wants to be with the moon

whether falling in love or just feeling blue

the universe continually, before you swoons

I wish I could dance, carefree on the river

the way that you do, without stirring up ripples

to have the quiet power to make a lover’s heart quiver

but nothing about love is ever that simple

I wish that could hang on the clouds in the sky

and see what you see, from the view of your eyes

to find peace in knowing although everyone dies

there is pure joy in the thought, that there are no goodbyes
