I Will Be

First Heart Break Part 1:

By . .Published 9 years ago • 1 min read

What about me?

Did I not matter at the time?

Was holding me down a crime?

But that was the promise you made

Nobody forced you to say the things you said.

"Do you know how much I love you?" the question that you asked me.

"I can take a guess." I said that but I didn't know the next week you'd be setting me free.

"I'm not ready for a relationship, I thought I was."

How is it that when you said that, I felt my whole world pause.

Now I'm so choked up, it feels like my throat has been stuffed with gauze.

But what was the cause?

You played the game so good, I'll give you the applause.

What do I do now, since you were the first guy I trusted with my heart?

Did you just 'accidentally' tear it apart?

I was foolish to believe you from the start.

I should've kept my walls up for the most part,

but the way you finessed my heart right out of chest was a work of art.

Silly me, I watched it happen,

I mistook the game for passion.

"Are you okay?" That's what you asked me in the end

"I will be." I'm stronger than you could possibly imagine.
