I Was Hoping

i'm still tired

By BrenPublished 3 years ago • 1 min read

i was hoping

to die in my sleep last night

that would

have made my day

but no

i’m still fuckin here

my breathe, my metronome of existence

(in and out,

…

in and out)

instead of aimlessly

trudging through another day

i was hoping

i wouldn’t

be here to see

to see all the nothing

that happens,

because none of it

matters to me

(to and fro

…

to and fro)

but i woke up

and now it’s today

my apathy

wrestles my lazy

feeling closer to people

on movie screens

waves of a relentless life

lived all hazy

(this way

…

that way)
