i seem to have grabbed the 50 haikū/senryū in 50 days inspo and have found myself listening to music, contemplating lyrics and counting syllables. thanks to Alyson Smith for the idea (that came to me via Paul Stewart, Sasha Desideri & Harper Lewis…i’m sure there are others that have taken up this challenge - these are the ones that have come across my feed. i’ll link their profiles at the end. do remind me if I forget!

my initial thought was to respond to 50 australian, female & gender diverse musicians…but the first song they popped into my mind was this one, and my lofty ideas dissipated and i embraced the silly. perhaps it will be 49 aussie women & gender diverse peeps. maybe it won’t.

i suspect it is likely that i will stick to the 50 songs, but rather less likely that i’ll get one written & posted daily. perhaps i’ll surprise myself.
