I wanted to give my heart away;
To serve a patch of my bliss,
And to willingly keep all desire at bay
for a Cause higher than basis.
***
I wanted to know that Something more
Reigned behind it all;
That life was not just beat and breath nor
groundless rising when you fall.
***
I wanted to have just one oppurtunity
to give up of my own;
I wanted to sicken this immunity
to a life just caught and thrown.
***
I wanted to sacrifice to Something higher;
To love Something awfully, sanelessly;
To burn for something in a raging fire;
But I wanted to do it painlessly.

Nice poem, Rachel.
That last line, I think all of us would love that. Fantastic poem!
