I Want to Build a Tower

Evol

By Rachel BealsPublished 8 years ago • 1 min read

I want to build a tower and call it something.

But, what?

Perhaps I could call it the Tower of Sadness.

Built on a foundation of expected disappointments and cracked oak.

Or, I could build a tower of Euphoria.

The sensations of ecstasy and other

artificial feelings.

All of these voices keep telling me to build a Tower of Love.

But, how could I build something out of a thing that I have never known?

I have yet to find the materials for which it’d be made of.

So for now,

My feeble arms and I shall build a Tower of Sadness.

Perhaps one day a tsunami of Love will knock it over,

And I will laugh at the melodramatic thoughts I had of an older time,

With my love wrapped around my arm,

Waiting for that tsunami to embrace us both.
