I Walked Through Time
I walked through time with bare, soft feet,
Across lost hours I could not keep,
The sand held clocks instead of grain,
Each one ticking a quiet pain.
I carried light within my hand,
A fragile glow across that land,
Each step I took stirred dust and years,
A trail of whispers, hope and fears.
The faces gone, yet lingered near,
In every tick I felt them here,
A thousand lives beneath the ground,
All silent, yet so deeply loud.
I walked through moments never mine,
Through broken edges left by time,
Each clock a story left behind,
Each second carved into the mind.
The lantern flickered, soft and low,
As if it feared what I might know,
That time is not a steady stream,
But scattered shards of every dream.
I did not run, I did not hide,
I let the endless waves collide,
For in that place of loss and truth,
I found the echoes of my youth.
Still the clocks still marked their claim,
I left there changed, not quite the same,
For time may take, and time may bend,
But it cannot break what will not end.
So I walked on, beyond the tide,
With quiet strength now at my side,
The past behind, yet still with me,
A guide through all I’m yet to be.
