I Thought I Was Over It…

Until I Wasn’t

I was fine,

For a while...

Laughing and talking,

Moving like...

Nothing ever touched me that deep.

I even said it out loud...

“I’m over it.”

And maybe,

In that moment,

I believed it...

Didnt hear the cheat.

But healing isn’t linear,

It’s quiet...

Then loud again.

Because one small thing,

A song or a thought,

A name... That name...

And suddenly...!

I’m right back there!

Same feelings as before,

Same tightness in my chest.

Like time didn’t pass at all!

And that’s the part,

No one warns you about...

You can leave something behind,

And still...

Carry it...

Everywhere...

Reminded like haunted song.

Its never gone... for long...
