I Swallow

Sometimes we are in an unhappy relationship

By Marianne LeePublished 2 days ago Updated 2 days ago 1 min read

Every night we try to make love and that means every night, I toss myself into the crashing waves and let the rough waves take my body. My mind feels like a flat line despite all the movements. I wake up in the morning full of dusty memories of a nightmare with a pinch of a lingering headache. My lack of sleep always makes me have an uneventful morning. I wake my boyfriend up and we have breakfast together. My mind feels flat again. I feel a pang of disorientation as my breakfast goes down my throat like swallowing clear marbles. I swallow it all down - every morning and every night.
