I still wish you had worn my shoes!

"you'd understand"

If you had been in my shoes,

You would understand what I'm going through.

If you were in my shoes, you'd understand why I'm this way.

If you were born where I was born,

You would have felt the misery of walking barefoot.

If you had walked down the path I took,

You would have felt the gravel stones beneath your soft feet.

The rumours, criticisms, and slander against my name.

All of this has been enough to make me take a step back and reflect on my life.

The enmity and laughter in my absence,

All taught me not to trust anyone around me.

I still wish you had worn my shoes!
