I still remember the smell..

of his aftershave,

the shampoo he used in his hair

I still remember his handsome smile

His perfect teeth,

peppermint on his breath

I still remember how he hugged me tight

Much harder..

then ever before

I still remember him saying..

how much he loved me

I giggled and said it back

I still remember how he kissed my head

Too many times..

I lost count

I still remember how he blinked his eyes

Repeatedly..

to hold back his tears

I will always remember he knew

This was for the last time..

I did not
