I showed up for Violet

True colour

I didn’t ask for the raging carnelian to come fight with me

this time I am leaving it in the grey areas

I hold onto my coloured skin for protection, with a bit of fear

I recognize

where I stand

where I lie

where I breathe

I do not need to keep you and me in the deep end

The extreme black and white

we were brought upon

It seems limitations are just a fruit

the mixture of power and greed

They all turn into pink, the soft kind

Same as me, with a bit of blue

I showed up for Violet

surreal poetry
