I Seen the Bad Man

Then I ran away fast as I could

I Seen the Bad Man

The shadows bowed before his feet,
The night refused to make a sound.
His hollow smile was cold as stone,
While fear itself walked all around.

He carried storms inside his eyes,
A silent curse no prayer could break.
The stars abandoned every soul,
As darkness followed in his wake.

The trees stood still without the wind,
The birds forgot their morning song.
The moon hid deep behind the clouds,
As if it knew what had gone wrong.

I crossed the road to lose his trail,
Yet every path became the same.
His footsteps echoed through my mind,
Each whisper softly called my name.

No chains were wrapped around my hands,
Yet still I could not run away.
The prison lived inside my thoughts,
Where endless nights replaced the day.

I seen the bad man once before,
His face I’ll never leave behind.
For evil wears a thousand masks,
But leaves one scar upon the mind.

His shadow walked through streets,
Where broken dreams were left to fade.
The bravest hearts turned pale with fear,
As every debt was slowly paid.

I pray I’ll never meet again,
The face that stole the light from day.
For evil never truly dies,
It simply finds another way.
