I Seen Him Under the Ice The Devil
He tries to drag me under I look away.

I Seen Him Under the Ice The Devil
The pond froze heavy,
grey glass over the hollow.
I walked alone,
my breath showing.
Then I seen him under the ice,
face pressed to the frozen sheet.
Eyes wide and black,
his mouth moved silent.
I knew who it was,
the devil waiting.
Trapped yet free,
in his own cold world.
He claws scraped the surface,
marks fading quick.
I stumbled back,
his smile widened.
No stick, no stone could break it.
No prayer could hide me.
I ran, but still I felt him,
the ice groaned like laughter.
Since that day,
each winter calls him back.
He waits for me,
under my feet. In the Ice water.
to take me somewhere warmer.
Called Hell.
