I saw a color once I'd never seen before

In a dream God gave me

By VanessaPublished 5 years ago 2 min read

I saw a color once I’d never seen before.

I dreamed it up by God’s design.

It was hypnotic.

Unlike anything my eyes had seen

Electric and alive

Like adventures I’d long to see again

That happened long ago

But while I am awake I forget and do not know.

It didn’t move,

But speak.

A portal to a place.

A place of colored sound,

Not left nor right

not straight or back,

but up and down,

through all spokes of time that be.

Like tasting music with my eyes.

Like hearing my thoughts written in a book,

A book published by me in a time I don’t recall.

In a place I longed to be welcomed home to

Rediscovered yet lost and forgotten again

Again and again all at the same time.

A time of now

But …

Existing only in “Then”

The Dream

Within The Dream.

I saw a color once,

A color I’d never seen.

I saw it in a dream,

A dream God gave to me.

It enveloped me,

Opened me,

to know my soul

has yet so much to see.

It let me know that my time here is chained

But in it, there, is home, in the color, the color that I long to be.

And once free

Once there,

there will be other colors I have yet to see.

Colors that taste like seeing friends and family that I’ve longed for yet have never known

Fruits of trees never climbed

Never tasted yet are more familiar that my own self to me

That existed long ago

On the soils of time in between space

Eaten by mouths that don’t need to speak to speak

I see that I am chained to shadows of what color self, I, could be

Knowing I have yet to taste truth

Have yet to hear the finest colors of thought

Thought long ago taken away and held captive

as a reward for talents well used and deeds well done

for talents squandered

and deeds done wrong.

Giant eagles that have yet to soar again

2000 years asleep.

Laying on eggs still incubating the future of my future’s dreams.
