i quit!
my contract ended officially july 31st
my conditions have changed.
i realize now that the school year has begun, and
you know what hasn't been on my mind?
curriculum
mapping or assignment planning.
my summer was spent sowing seeds in our new home and harvesting
the well-wrought fruits. not
hoping and praying to survive another year in a role i'm unfit to do.
three months is just long enough for my nervous system to
settle after all that—and then you want me to go back?
no.
this year, i'll go back to spending my days meditating
cleaning
gardening
walking
supporting
learning myself
learning others
tending
embracing
writing
listening
reading
good lord, the reading
generally making time by
working from home. hey!
it's a gig economy.
might as well take advantage of the flexibility...
yeah... let's just go with that.

I am a non-binary, trans-masc writer. I work to dismantle internalized structures of oppression, such as the gender binary, class, and race. My writing is personal but anecdotally points to a larger political picture of systemic injustice.
