I Paint My Face,
To Share My Pain
I Paint My Face,
To Feel Sane
I Paint My Face,
So They Can See
I Paint My Face,
Because Just Me...
Can Be Too Much,
Can Feel Too Deep
Can Make Me Spiral,
Can Cost Me Sleep
The Constant Spinning in My Head
Can Leave Me Wishing I Were Dead
When I Put on My Face Paint,
It's Like It Lifts The Weight
Removes The Snapchat Filter
The Twisted, Cruel Self-Hate
Instead I Find My People
The Ones Who Hurt Like Me
And When I Use My Face Paint
It Helps Others To See
That Pain Beneath The Surface
Though Hidden Is Profound
And Through The Constant Bleeding
We Rarely Make A Sound
We Don't Just Want Attention
But Simply To Be Heard
So When I Wear My Face Paint
It Speaks Louder Than Words
