I only come out at night

The real me, anyway

Far from who I pretend to be

Every single day

At night the world is quiet

I sit with all my thoughts

The truth pours out of me

I feel just a little less lost

I sit with my emotions

Think of what the future holds

At night the world is quiet

But I know, I’m not alone

I don’t let it scare me

I try with all my might

The real me is out there

I only come out at night
