My thinning hair

Not due to injesting hormones

Or cutting it so short from wanting to look like a boy

Actually the result of trauma, stress, anxiety, unlucky genes

Luckily pixie cuts from the 1960s were so short

100% female

Despite the curious looks everyday

Up and down

Categorizing each item of clothing

The baseball shirt decorated with heart iron-ons

Creating potential confusion

Baseball is boy, hearts is girl

Isn't it?

Ignoring the clear as day waist to hip ratio

Wait, that might be trans as well

A transwoman with padding and false hormones

But what about the construction boots on the feet?

The 49-year old face not as feminine as it once was

Due to ageing naturally

Supports the trans argument but is it male or female?

Truth is neither for this Gen Xer who grew up in the western world

When Tomboys were not threats to society

Laughable that gender appearance is considered a threat

Considering the corruption and greed that only wants to bleed all of us dry

But they are so far away

When I am an immediate curiousity

Available for scrutiny

And admiration for standing in my truth

Unafraid of being judged by my appearance

Rather

I present myself as proof that female and woman means so many things

Most of all strength

Throwing my existence in the face of mass programming
