I'll Say Goodbye

A Poem

I’ll Say Goodbye.

Sleeping together, yet so far away.

Trying to remember, happier day.

Two were one once, side by side.

Maybe once but feelings have died.

We fell under the wheels of routine.

Found out that life can be nothing but mean.

Fighting each day just to share a smile.

Do you remember once now baby…

Love was worthwhile.

I’ll Say Goodbye.

Though it’ll tear you apart.

There’s a happiness for you baby…

But it don’t involve my heart.

Be brave now woman…

Dry that tear on your cheek.

Try and hold your head up baby…

Hold your voice when you speak.

And I’ll Say Goodbye…

I’ll Say Goodbye.

I’ll Say Goodbye.

Try not hate me, please try not to care.

Remember the bad times that brought us here.

Search the past now the truth was not there.

We had our problems, the weight was not shared.

I’ll Say Goodbye.

Though it’ll tear you apart.

There’s a happiness for you baby…

But it don’t involve my heart.

Be brave now woman…

Dry that tear on your cheek.

Try and hold your head up baby…

Hold your voice when you speak.

And I’ll Say Goodbye…

I’ll Say Goodbye.

I’ll Say Goodbye.

It’s no longer fair for us…

To stay together but alone.

We were on that roller coaster baby…

But from it we were thrown.

It’s the hardest thing I’ve ever done…

But I have to walk on.

Let me go now,

Don’t you turn around,

Find happiness and be strong.

And…

I’ll Say Goodbye.

I'll say Goodbye.

I'll say Goodbye.

I'll say Goodbye.

Though it’ll tear you apart.

There’s a happiness for you baby…

But it don’t involve my heart.

Be brave now woman…

Dry that tear on your cheek.

Try and hold your head up baby…

Hold your voice when you speak.

I’ll Say Goodbye…
